The family in this lovely house wished to convert the downstairs of their townhouse into an open plan multi-zoned space, with a rear extension. 

Having lived in the US, Africa, the Middle East and Europe, the couple were keen to create a design that incorporated treasures they had picked up along the way. 

The challenge was to create a unifying layout, as well as a comfortable space, where they could entertain guests and young grandchildren.
